Description
This is the TRA-11A Overarm Router produced by The R.L. Carter division of The Stanley Works in New Britain Conn. Manufacture date thought to be c. 1936.
Great Vintage piece of woodworking equipment. Sturdy gooseneck design for the arm and table support. Adjustable table height and adjustable motor mount. I have not weighed this machine but have read some third party descriptions putting the machine at 700lbs.
According to the manufacturer badge this machine was originally outfitted with a 110V electric motor. When acquired the original equipment motor had been replaced with an Onsrud Machine Works, Inc. pneumatic turbine motor ( a vintage piece of equipment in its own right)
Other information on the Onsrud motor ID plate: No. 11782 / Type H32G
The motor operates at 22,000 RPM and is rated at 100 PSI.
Lower motor mount will hold a standard router motor if the included pneumatic motor is not a practical option for you.
The table measures 24-inches square with up to 17-inches of clearance between the motor and table top.
